The awards aim to foster early innovation and to encourage pursuit of excellence in life science research

Singapore: WuXi PharmaTech, a leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device R&D outsourcing company with operations in China and the US, has concluded its seventh annual WuXi PharmaTech Life Science and Chemistry Awards in Beijing.

Established in 2007, the WuXi PharmaTech Life Science and Chemistry Awards are the first nationwide scientific awards in China established by a life science enterprise.

The awards aim to foster early innovation and to encourage pursuit of excellence in life science research. Participants were selected by a committee comprised of distinguished experts from the Chinese life science academia and industry.

Since its inception, 110 scholars from more than 30 premier Chinese universities and research institutes have received WuXi PharmaTech Life Science and Chemistry Awards, of whom three were later elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
