The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic collaboration with Western Sydney University, Australia.
This strategic collaboration aims to reinforce Hong Kong’s important role in the global advancement of Chinese medicine and to facilitate international collaboration and exchange in the field.
Key objectives include advancing research in traditional Chinese medicine, enhancing cross-regional exchanges, fostering the research on herb-drug interactions and its clinical application, and elevating global recognition of Chinese medicine through joint research initiatives.
CMHHK will commence operations in phases in December 2025. It is being constructed by the Government, and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) was appointed as the contractor of the service deed in June 2021 through a tendering process. Subsequently, HKBU registered “HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited” as the operator in accordance with the requirements of the service deed, which is responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of CMHHK. CMHHK will provide quality Chinese medicine services to the public and serve as a hub for clinical teaching and research in the field.
