In collaboration with Singapore Deep Tech Alliance (SDTA) the “Technology Showcase Day” presented next big ideas in Digital Technology for Advanced Manufacturing in healthcare, biotech and beyond
Sustainability-focused deep tech venture builder, Singapore Deep-Tech Alliance (SDTA) and Innovate UK hosted their first joint Technology Showcase Day on 17th October, with 8 participating companies from the UK. The cohort companies came in from the UK and pitched their businesses in-person to selected investors and business partners in Singapore.
The Technology Showcase Day brought potential investors and business partners together with eight UK-based companies seeking to bring their innovative solutions for advanced manufacturing to Singapore and beyond. The Technology Showcase Day displayed solutions and technologies spread across additive manufacturing, industrial IoT, advanced sensors, digital transformation, robotics, AI and VR. All the products and solutions are targeted towards Advanced Manufacturing related applications such as: additive manufacturing, safety in manufacturing lines and speeding up biotech processes.
Singapore Deep-Tech Alliance (SDTA) partners founders to rapidly build, validate, and scale ClimateTech startups from technologies designed for the Energy, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Semiconductor industries through a public-private partnership with Corporates, Investors, Research Institutions, and Government and Regulatory Agencies. Over the past eight months, SDTA ventured with the 8 participating companies from the Innovate UK Global Incubator Programme Singapore, offering mentorship opportunities and business-growth resources from its network as well as access to experienced deep-tech entrepreneurs in Singapore and sector experts from institutions such as Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Enterprise Singapore and Nanyang Technological University.
“Throughout the course of the Innovate UK Global Incubator Programme Singapore, the 8 companies have exceeded our expectations time and time again. This showcase was a big opportunity for this year’s cohort to present their solutions and gain attention from key industry stakeholders,” said Clara Chen, Co-Founding Managing Partner of SDTA.
“Singapore is positioned very well as an advanced manufacturing powerhouse. By tapping into our external network and Singapore’s innovation ecosystem, we believe there is a major opportunity for UK based companies to gain a foothold into the local markets. Singapore Deep-Tech Alliance is proud to see some of the portfolio companies already achieving traction in the local market,” added Luuk Eliens, Co-Founding Managing Partner of SDTA.
The participating companies brought their solutions to the ASEAN region and are currently seeking local partnership or funding opportunities, from seed to series A stages.
“We are happy to partner with Singapore Deep-Tech Alliance to create opportunities for advanced manufacturing companies to develop solutions that can be deployed in Singapore and the rest of the ASEAN region. Through the Innovate UK Global Incubator Programme Singapore, we hope to have inspired collaborations between large corporates and UK-based start-ups, which are vital to the development of relevant, cutting-edge innovations that have potential for commercialisation and impact,” said Jon Hazell, Partnership Manager, Global Incubator, Innovate UK.
The Technology Showcase Day marks the cohort's graduation from the Innovate UK Global Incubator Programme Singapore.
