Singapore's SCRI honors nine researchers with the DCA-CRC award recognizing R&D contribution

Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI), a business unit under the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS), has rewarded Nine Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) with the Distinguished Contributor Award for CRCs for their dedication to the profession and outstanding contributions to Singapore’s research community. 

The nine winners of the CY 2023-24 have demonstrated outstanding professional competence and leadership in various aspects of clinical research operations and administration, as well as displayed tremendous dedication to their job and passion to empower the next generation of CRCs.

CRCs underpin Singapore’s clinical research ecosystem and instrumental indriving clinical research ensuring the quality of clinical research studies. Clinical research centers (CRCs) provide clinical trials with the fundamental skills, knowledge, and spirit of excellence required for setting up and managing complex trials.

SCRI is the national academic research organisation dedicated to enhancing the standards of clinical research in Singapore by developing core capabilities, infrastructure and scientific leadership for clinical research.

 

The Distinguished Contributor Award For Clinical Research Coordinators (DCA-CRC)

Launched in 2019, the Distinguished Contributor Award for Clinical Research Coordinators (DCA-CRC) recognises outstanding CRCs and their significant contributions to the profession and community. CRCs play a vital role in supporting research investigators and building a collaborative ecosystem for the execution of quality clinical research. Their dedication and commitment through the ethos of ethical and excellent research are commendable.

Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI) presents the award for the fourth consecutive year since its launch in 2019, with 34 nominations from public health institutions. The Distinguished Contributor Award recognises exceptional clinical research coordinators for their commitment and significant contributions which bring value to clinical research.

2024 Awards categories

  • One Distinction Award comprising a $3,000 cash award for professional development and an award certificate.
  • Three Merit Awards each comprising a $1,000 cash award for professional development and an award certificate.
  • Finalist Awards each receiving an award certificate 

The winners demonstrated outstanding professional competence and leadership in the various aspects of clinical research operations and administration. In addition, they uphold excellence in their professional and personal lives. Nurture and inspire junior CRCs to achieve their potential, are committed and dedicated to imparting their professional expertise,  and are in full-time service at public healthcare institutions. These are the crucial eligibility criteria to be nominated.

SCRI is a business unit under the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS), a subsidiary of Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH). SCRI also works with the National Medical Research Council to assist the Ministry of Health in implementing clinical trials policy and strategic initiatives to support and develop clinical research competencies locally. SCRI also collaborates with clinicians to enhance Singapore’s clinical research ecosystem and strengthen its expertise in executing multi-site, multi-national studies and the development of regional clinical research networks.
