Bangkok to host Ascensia diabetes care APAC nurse symposium

The symposium is taking place on 17 - 18 January 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand, and has been endorsed by the Thai Association of Diabetes Educators

Ascensia Diabetes Care is holding its inaugural APAC Nurse Symposium entitled Mastering Challenges in Diabetes Management Together. This is the first time that Ascensia has organized an education symposium for nurses in the Asia Pacific region and the event will bring together almost 100 nurses from 13 countries and regions to discuss key challenges and solutions in diabetes management. The symposium is taking place on 17 - 18 January 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand, and has been endorsed by the Thai Association of Diabetes Educators. 

The sessions at this symposium have been specifically designed to support the daily practice of nurses who play a key role in diabetes management and provide guidance to address the key challenges they must address to help care for their patients. The agenda will cover the management of hypoglycemia, diabetes screening, digital solutions in diabetes, the role of blood glucose monitoring and the importance of patient education. The meeting also includes sessions that share the perspectives from various stakeholders in diabetes care, including the people with diabetes themselves. 

In addition to lectures on these topics, the meeting provides the opportunity for participants to share best practices with international colleagues from the fields of nursing and diabetes care. 

The meeting is being co-chaired by Professor Zilin Sun, Consultant Endocrinologist at Zhongda Hospital, Medical School of Southeast University China and Professor Thep Himathongkam, Consultant Endocrinologist, Chairman and CEO or the Theptarin Hospital Bangkok.
