Singapore: The first Global Manipal Alumni Health, Science and Technology Convention will be conducted in Kuala Lumpur on August 7-8, 2014. The event, organized by the Manipal Alumni Association of Malaysia (MAAM), is said to be the biggest gathering of Manipal alumni organized outside of India.

It is estimated that around 1000 alumni from the renowned Manipal University from all over the world will attend the convention. The event is expected to witness a huge gathering of lifescience pioneers, healthcare professionals from across the globe discussing and sharing ideas and the latest developments in their field of practice. The event will also be a time to reunite with friends and batch-mates from their alma mater.

Dr Philip George, the convention's organizing Chairman said that the convention would be an excellent opportunity for fresh lifescience graduates to meet their seniors and share experiences.

The convention will have a stellar line-up of about 90 speakers and an extensive scientific program for delegates. The program will include plenary sessions by key speakers, lectures, symposiums, pre and post conference workshops, a convention debate and free paper sessions.

Malaysia alone has close to 7,000 Manipal Alumni Healthcare professionals. The Melaka campus has presently about 3,000 medical alumni working in Malaysia.
