Fujitsu Japan Limited and Teikyo University Hospital announced the start of a joint proof of concept aimed at strengthening regional medical collaboration. The initiative, focuses on developing new information analysis and patient management mechanisms utilizing medical administration systems and electronic health record data. This will facilitate the prompt admittance of severely ill patients requiring hospitalization or surgery and a smooth transition back to primary care after discharge.
This joint experiment will implement the following initiatives for Teikyo University Hospital's regional medical collaboration operations:
1. Digitalization of Patient Workflow from Referral Acceptance to Discharge Coordination
AI-OCR and electronic paper will digitize external hospital information, integrating it with electronic health records and collaboration systems to eliminate duplicate data entry and improve efficiency.
2. Verification of the Health Care Management Platform for Data-Driven Strategic Patient Acquisition
The Health Care Management Platform by Fujitsu, part of its Uvance model, will visualize and analyze patient referral trends to identify and strengthen collaboration with facilities. Visit records and results will be registered in Salesforce's Agentforce 360 Platform to analyze referral performance and develop strategies addressing facility needs.
Teikyo University Hospital aims to cut its Medical Collaboration Office's administrative workload by 30% while enhancing medical care quality, resource optimization, and patient service. The system will integrate further with electronic health records to centralize patient workflows, enabling timely care, supporting healthcare decisions, improving hospital management, and enhancing regional medical collaboration.
Fujitsu Japan will use insights from the experiment to improve its offerings, support Teikyo University Hospital's DX and digital hospitals, and under Uvance, advance medical workflow transformation through data and AI to establish a sustainable healthcare system.
Teikyo University Hospital will systematize this mechanism as a model for a data-driven regional healthcare system, expand it to other institutions, and enhance its Medical Collaboration Office to serve as a hub for regional medical care beyond its traditional role.
