FedEx is strengthening its healthcare and life sciences logistics network in Asia Pacific, with its Singapore Life Science Center serving as a strategic regional hub for the storage, handling and distribution of time- and temperature-sensitive healthcare products.
The 65,000-square-foot facility supports pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices and other healthcare products moving between manufacturers, distributors, healthcare providers and patients across regional and global markets.
The centre forms part of the newly established FedEx Life Sciences organisation and provides multiple temperature-controlled storage environments.
These include controlled ambient conditions between 15°C and 25°C, refrigerated storage between 2°C and 8°C and frozen storage between -35°C and -15°C.
The Singapore facility also supports regional inventory management through services including pick-and-pack operations, dry ice packing, continuous temperature and humidity monitoring, regulatory-compliant documentation and international transportation.
Asia is expected to account for around 40% of global healthcare sector growth by 2030, with the regional healthcare market projected to reach approximately US$5 trillion.
FedEx said demographic change, rising affluence and growing healthcare investment are increasing demand for specialised healthcare logistics across the region.
The Singapore centre forms part of a global network of six FedEx Life Science Centers located in Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo, Mumbai, Memphis and Veldhoven.
FedEx also operates more than 130 cold-chain facilities worldwide.
A key capability of the Singapore hub is shipment monitoring and intervention.
FedEx Surround Monitoring and Intervention provides near-real-time shipment data, weather alerts and predictive insights that can support proactive intervention when disruption risks emerge.
SenseAware ID provides shipment-level monitoring and additional visibility for sensitive healthcare products in transit.
These capabilities are intended to help life sciences companies maintain product integrity and continuity when handling shipments that may be sensitive to temperature excursions, delays or other supply-chain disruptions.
The facility also offers healthcare-focused warehousing and distribution services spanning inventory management, domestic and international transport, dry ice packing and traceability documentation.
Its quality and compliance frameworks include GDP Medical Devices, ISO 9001 and C-TPAT certifications, alongside approvals covering regulated healthcare products.
The facility also operates under Good Manufacturing Practices for therapeutic drugs and holds ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications.
FedEx has CEIV Pharma-certified operations at key Asia-Pacific hubs including Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Kansai International Airport and Incheon International Airport.
Thirty FedEx facilities globally operate under CEIV Pharma quality frameworks.
