Chung Shan Medical University Hospital (CSMUH), one of the three key medical centers located in mid-Taiwan, has joined the TriNetX network in the US to improve medical information processing and to better harness data held within its electronic medical records. The partnership will provide access to de-identified data of nearly 350,000 patient lives to the TriNetX network.

"Joining TriNetX provides us with the opportunity to dramatically improve the quality of our medical services, improve the flow of clinical information, and to help our doctors and hospital management better service our patients," said Dr. Chih-Jen Tseng, Vice President and Information Architect at CSMUH. "We are looking forward to working with TriNetX to utilize our unified cloud platform to streamline research, accelerate data analysis, and simplify data acquisition."

Due to its location, CSMUH attracts a large number of tourists coming from neighboring countries for medical treatment every year. Since its inception in the 1960s, CSMUH has developed distinctive, patient-centered, holistic care services, deploying the latest medical equipment with a modern intelligent medical center at its core. CSMUH began introducing electronic medical records more than 10 years ago, housing the data on a standardized information system structured with forward-thinking and big data use cases in mind.

"We evaluated several domestic and international enterprise companies with successful data integration platforms in medical network informatization and we found that TriNetX was best suited to help us reach our goals," said Dr. Tseng. "Their ability to protect patient data, integrate data into the cloud, and provide easy-to-use analytics tools was particularly attractive to us. Joining the TriNetX network will help raise our standards to a level comparable to other major international medical centers and information libraries."
