Charles River acquires Singapore-based microbiology subcontract test laboratory Brass
Singapore: Charles River has acquired Brass, a Singapore-based microbiology subcontract test laboratory specializing in endotoxin testing, bacterial and fungal identification.
The objective of the acquisition is to accelerate growth of its portfolio of products and services in Asia by providing clients' microbial detection and identification for manufacturing in the biopharmaceutical, medical device and life sciences industries.
Under the acquisition, Brass will be known as Charles River Endotoxin and Microbial Detection Singapore and will add to Charles River's presence in Asia, which includes sites in South Korea, India and China.
This acquisition is Charles River's second for a laboratory business since 2012 and is consistent with the division's bid to expand their microbiological services portfolio.
