Quintiles appoints new GM for Asian Lab
Singapore: Quintiles appointed Ms Jenny Zhang as VP and general manager of Asian laboratories. She will be responsible for Quintiles' laboratory operations in Japan, China, Singapore and India, effective from August 29, 2012. Ms Zhang brings with her more than 16 years of experience in the central laboratory and clinical trial industry.
Prior to joining Quintiles, Ms Zhang was managing director of LabCorp's Asia Pacific operations. She was VP of global lab operations when LabCorp acquired Clearstone Central Laboratories in June 2011 and was general manager of Asia Pacific for MDS Global Central Lab before it was sold to Clearstone. Ms Zhang established MDS Central Lab in Beijing in 1996, and went on to lead the Beijing lab, as well as the company's Singapore lab before it was sold in 2009. Before joining MDS, Ms Zhang was an assistant research fellow in Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
Ms Zhang said that, "I am very excited at the opportunity to be part of the Quintiles' leadership team in Asia as the industry witnesses a period of unprecedented growth in the region. Ms Zhang graduated from Tsinghua University, Beijing, with a bachelor and master's degrees in chemistry. She went on to obtain her master of business administration in 2005. Ms Zhang's deep-seated knowledge of business operations in China is widely acknowledged by the industry and customers.
