The Singapore subsidiary of Japanese logistics company Sankyu will build a 57,000-pallet air-conditioned warehouse facility in Tuas, creating around 170 new jobs.
A four-story building spanning 38,380 square meters is currently being constructed and is expected to be fully operational in January 2026.
A storage facility equipped with temperature control, security protocols, and inventory management systems in accordance with industry standards will be established at the Tuas Distribution Hub (TDH). The warehouse is equipped with automated forklifts that save energy and labor.
The current warehouse features; A full rack VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) facility with its own inventory management system enables efficient storage, loading, and unloading of fine-chemicals and bio-chemicals; Air conditioning, chill room and sampling room facilities, and dock-shelters in loading/unloading areas for handling fine-chemicals and bio-chemicals.
TDH is located within the Tuas Industrial Estate, near the newly developed Tuas Mega Port. In order to give prospective customers ample time to make business decisions regarding TDH, it was soft-launched at Genting Hotel on April 25.
Sankyu's Tuas Logistics Hub is a logistics hub that provides a variety of distribution services, including Nutritional, Pharmaceutical, General cargo, VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) and global distribution.
Based on the Sankyu Group’s basic sustainability policy, TDH will contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions with the installation of solar panels on the rooftop to partially provide power to the warehouses, as well as the use of lithium-ion batteries on all forklifts.
In 2024, Sankyu Singapore signed a memorandum of understanding with Plaspulp Union in Singapore to develop a circular economy for logistics packaging.
Established in 1971, Sankyu Singapore offers logistics, supply chain management, and consulting services. It is a subsidiary of Sankyu Inc, a Japanese logistics and engineering company headquartered in Tokyo. Sankyu Singapore owns other warehouse facilities, including its Clementi Distribution Centre and Tuas Logistics Hub.
