Singapore: Singapore has launched medtech portal, www.medtech.sg, that aims to address international investors' queries on relevant and accurate information to evaluate medtech investment projects in Singapore, information about companies that provide medtech-related products and services and the channel for a medtech entrepreneur to efficiently set up a local manufacturing or research centre in Singapore.

Set up by AsiaPac Bio, the new website features relevant business and industry information as well as a comprehensive online medtech company directory. The portal targets local and overseas business users in the medtech sector.

The free-to-use portal aims to be a one-stop information resource on Singapore's medtech sector, linking up the local community with the global industry. It would provide regularly updated information and data on Singapore's medtech industry which will be critical for overseas players who are keen to establish operations here. It will also be an important channel which local companies can leverage upon to proactively reach out to potential local and overseas customers.

"Singapore's medical technology industry almost tripled its total output over the past decade, to $3.43 billion (S$4.3 billion) in 2012. This robust growth is supported by an ecosystem of home-grown start-ups, clinical and research institutions, as well as leading multinational corporations.
