Singapore: Thermo Fisher Scientific has completed 20th year of its operation in Singapore. The company celebrated the milestone on August 30, 2016 at Block 33, Marsiling Industrial Estate Road 3 with a town hall and other employee events.

U.S. dignitaries, Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. and Margaret Hanson-Muse, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs-ASEAN, U.S.Embassy, Singapore, Mark Stevenson, Executive Vice President and President of Life Sciences Solutions and Mark O'Donnell, Vice President of Global Operations for Life Sciences Solutions and Laboratory Products segments, are the guests of honor.

"It is a proud moment in history for Thermo Fisher as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Singapore site's service to customers in the region and around the world," said Mark Stevenson, executive vice president at Thermo Fisher. "The site's incredible growth in the last two decades is a testament to Thermo Fisher's commitment to meet the needs of the scientific community."

The Thermo Fisher Marsiling site began operations in 1996 and was originally a 15,000-square-foot manufacturing facility with 24 employees. Today the Marsiling site footprint has grown tenfold to a 150,000 square-foot facility with more than 800 colleagues representing Thermo Fisher businesses across the company. Having built more than 210,000 instruments over two decades, the site is a Thermo Fisher Center of Excellence for instrument manufacturing in the Asia-Pacific region.

Thermo Fisher continues to invest in and expand its manufacturing, Research and Development (R&D) and commercial capabilities in Singapore in order to better serve customers in Asia Pacific and globally from this important hub.

"The presence of Thermo Fisher manufacturing and R&D in Singapore enables innovative, complex, high quality and cost competitive life sciences products to be rapidly developed and commercially launched from Singapore," said Kem-Wah Choy, vice president of manufacturing operations for Thermo Fisher Singapore. "We will continue to invest in and expand our manufacturing, R&D and commercial capabilities in Singapore to better serve customers in Asia Pacific and globally from this important hub. I look forward to another 20 years of success for our customers and colleagues."
