The expansion of C-Flex production at Saint-Gobain's facility in Suwa, Japan, is part of a multi-year manufacturing strategy

French firm Saint-Gobain Life Sciences has announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Suwa, Japan to manufacture C-Flex TPE tubing for the bioprocess industry. The capacity expansion at Suwa is part of Saint-Gobain Life Sciences' ongoing investment plan to expand the global manufacturing capacity of its products and services used throughout the bioprocess industry.

"With the expansion of the Suwa site, we are further expanding our global production network, particularly to support the availability of our C-Flex TPE tubing in Asia," said Benjamin Le Quéré, General Manager of the Bioprocess Solutions business at Saint-Gobain Life Sciences.

"We made significant progress improving C-Flex services and lead times through the second quarter of this year," said Le Quéré. "The addition of manufacturing capacity in Suwa, Japan in the fourth quarter and the expansion of capacity in Hangzhou in early 2023 will further strengthen our ability to serve the needs of the bioprocess industry."

The expansion of C-Flex production at Saint-Gobain's facility in Suwa, Japan, is part of a multi-year manufacturing strategy to increase the Bioprocess Solutions business' manufacturing capacity around the world and create redundant manufacturing capacity in Europe, North America and Asia to meet increasing customer demand.

The Saint-Gobain plant in Suwa has been in operation since 1992 and employs around 100 people who provide production capacity for several business areas within the Saint-Gobain group.
