PurMinds Enterprises, Inc. (formerly Pacific Software, Inc.) has announced the signing of a collaboration agreement with SpectroChip Inc., a Taiwan-based developer of photonic-chip sensing and portable testing technologies, and Kaohsiung Municipal Siaogang Hospital, operated by Kaohsiung Medical University, to support teaching, research, and clinical validation of point-of-care (POC) diagnostic technologies and testing solutions.
The collaboration brings together SpectroChip's photonic chip-based portable testing technology, PurMinds' SwiftLabTM Platform and precision-medicine solutions, and Siaogang Hospital's clinical research capabilities.
The parties intend to establish the joint "PurMinds / SpectroChip Global Clinical Validation Testing Center" for teaching, research, and clinical-validation activities, as a framework for evaluating diagnostic performance, assessing testing workflows, and advancing research into continuously improved POC performance, subject to review by an institutional review board (IRB), institutional approvals and applicable regulatory requirements.
Under the collaboration framework, SpectroChip has committed to providing Siaogang Hospital with NT$3 million (about $94,000) in teaching and research funding over five years, generally at NT$600,000 per year, subject to the applicable agreement and institutional procedures.
