The National University Health System (NUHS) unvieiled the NUHS Scientific and Innovation Summit 2026 on 1-2 April in Singapore. This biennial flagship event serves as a platform to showcase Singapore's scientific and clinical research capabilities while facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices in medical science. Over 600 international and local healthcare professionals, scientists, and opinion leaders will convene to shape the future of healthcare.

The summit opened with a focus on Predictive, Precise and Presonalised Healthcare Innovations through a lineup of eminent speakers, including a Fireside Chat with Professor Howard Bauchner, Past Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and Plenary 1 featuring Sir Jeremy Farrar, Assistant Director-General at the World Health Organization (WHO), who will discuss "Science, Health, and Leadership in Uncertain Times." This will be followed by Plenary 2, a Fireside Chat with Dr. Karen DeSalvo, Immediate Past Google Chief Health Officer, on "Innovation and Transformation."
Attendees can explore innovative approches to address current and emerging healthcare challenges through sessions led by distinguished professionals. Highlights include Adj A/Prof Andrea Wong on "Translating Discovery to Cure: The New Era in Cancer Therapy," Prof Jimmy So and Adj A/Prof Bettina Lieske on "Surgery in the Age of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics," and Adj Prof Ngiam Kee Yuan on "Opportunities and Ethics: Navigating AI's Revolution in Healthcare."

Notable speakers such as A/Prof Edmund Chiong and Dr Natalie Ngoi will present on topics like AI in urology and novel paradigms in ovarian cancer treatment. Additionally, clinicians from the National Cancer Institute Singapore (NCIS) will contribute through presentations, speaking engagements, and poster sessions, such as Dr Bernice Oh's work on CAR-T cell therapy for pediatric leukemia.
