Mumbai: Thermo Scientific recently added new products in its spectrophotometer and lab instrumentation portfolio. The Multiskan GO spectrophotometer can support endpoint, kinetic and spectral scanning assays at very fast speeds.

Temperature-critical assays can benefit from a precise temperature control feature, which allows any measurement wavelength between 200 and 1,000 nm to be selected at any time with the advanced monochromator-based optical system, allowing the complete spectrum of a sample to be scanned in less than 10 seconds.

The Multiskan GO spectrophotometer also features increased energy efficiency. Energy use by the unit is minimized by an automatic power save function, reducing energy consumption by up to 70 percent. The Multiskan GO instrument can be controlled as a standalone unit with dedicated software for quick and simple cuvette and plate measurements. Both the internal and PC software are available in multiple language versions including English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.

Additionally the Thermo Scientific Sorvall RC 12BP Plus centrifuge , a large-capacity, high-throughput floor standing centrifuge for blood banking and bioprocessing applications was also launched recently. With a maximum capacity of 12 liters, the centrifuge can process up to 12 blood bag systems (up to 500 mL) or six 2000 mL Thermo Scientific Nalgene bio-bottles.

Easy and intuitive set-up and operation are facilitated by the user-friendly interface, which incorporates a 15-program memory with one-touch recall of commonly used protocols. Furthermore, a security key prevents unauthorized access.
