The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion successfully concluded its participation at Medical Fair Asia 2026 last week at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore. Spearheaded by the International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the showcase featured 16 premier medtech brands under the banner “From Taiwan with Care - Activate the Future of Wellness”.
Throughout the three-day event, the pavilion served as an active hub for cross-border dialogue, exploring how Taiwan’s expertise in microelectronics and artificial intelligence can address pressing regional challenges, including workforce burnout, administrative bottlenecks, and an ageing population. The showcase brought together key regional figures, including Ambassador Dr Tung Chen-yuan, Chan Hai-Kiang (SMF AEM IG Chairman), ZC Chen (Taiwan Medical Technology Industry Association), and Megan Liu (Director of the TAITRA Singapore Office).
"Taiwan has established a long-term touch with Singapore. We have both very strong trust and mutual confidence with each other, which is a very good and important foundation for any collaboration," says Ambassador Dr Tung Chen-yuan. "Facing this staggering challenge of demographic change, last year Taiwan entered a super-aged society, and this year, Singapore too. Because both of our societies face such similar challenges, I think Taiwan and Singapore can work together to pursue more advanced solutions and technology to solve these problems."

Moving into outpatient and diagnostic care, the second zone demonstrated AI-driven precision in action. Attendees explored high-efficiency solutions, including Energy Resources International’s portable X-ray technology, APEXBIO’s rapid diagnostic analyzers, AVer’s smart tele-ICU systems, IBASE’s localised edge computing modules, and Transcend’s medical-grade storage solutions.
The journey concluded in the surgical hub, an immersive space dedicated to smart hospital infrastructure and operating room innovations. Here, attendees witnessed the interplay between cutting-edge technologies, including EPED’s surgical navigation systems, TWSC’s advanced laparoscopic tools, Joson-Care’s ICU beds, Wellell’s automated pressure relief mattresses, and high-performance medical computing and nursing care solutions from Axiomtek and Advantech.

The conclusion of Medical Fair Asia 2026 marks the beginning of a broader regional push by TITA and TAITRA to cement long-term commercial ties across the Asia-Pacific medtech market.
Key upcoming initiatives include dedicated trade missions and targeted B2B matchmaking sessions across major ASEAN markets, such as the upcoming Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion at Taiwan Expo in the Philippines – designed to connect Taiwanese technology providers directly with regional hospital groups, public health procurement agencies, and medical device distributors. In parallel, TAITRA is advancing the global "Go Healthy with Taiwan" initiative, facilitating pilot projects, technology transfers, and co-development ventures between Taiwanese hardware leaders and ASEAN healthcare partners.
