Once completed, the deal is said to bolster Pfizer's product pipelines, especially in sterile injectables and biosimilars
Singapore: Earlier this year, Pfizer announced its interest in acquiring Hospira for $17 billion and the proposal took one step closer to completion with Hospira shareholders agreeing for the merger. As per reports, 99.4 percent of shareholders voted for the merger and the firms will complete the deal by the end of 2015.
Meanwhile the Commerce Commission recently published a statement citing key competition issues with the merger and said that it was reviewing various factors before granting clearance. Once completed, the deal is said to bolster Pfizer's product pipelines, especially in sterile injectables and biosimilars.
