PeptiDream Inc., a public biopharmaceutical company based in Kawasaki, Japan, focused on the discovery and development of peptide- based therapeutics and PDRadiopharma Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PeptiDream, have announced that its subsidiary, PDRadiopharma, has received formal approval from the Kazusa Akademia Park Research Institute and Related Facilities Promotion Council to move forward with the development of a new manufacturing facility at Kazusa Akademia Park with an investment of Approximately JPY 16.5 billion (breakdown: JPY 11.0 billion for buildings and JPY 5.5 billion for equipment and other costs).

PDRadiopharma has entered into an agreement with Chiba Prefecture and the Kazusa Akademia Park Research Institute and Related Facilities Promotion Council regarding the construction of a new radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility within Kazusa Akademia Park. The approval application was originally submitted by PeptiDream and PDRadiopharma to the Chiba Prefecture Government in December 2024.

PeptiDream and PDRadiopharma are jointly focused on the discovery of innovative radiopharmaceuticals leveraging PeptiDream’s proprietary PDPS® (Peptide Discovery Platform System) technology to discover and develop innovative radiopharmaceuticals. In anticipation of the launch of therapeutics and theranostics utilising next-generation radionuclides, PeptiDream and PDRadiopharma plan to expand their manufacturing capabilities beyond the existing PDRadiopharma Chiba Plant. The new facility will meet international standards and support domestic supply, as well as future exports to the Asia- Pacific region.

Receipt of this approval represents a key milestone for the project and enables PDRadiopharma to proceed toward a planned construction start in 2027. The new facility is scheduled for completion in 2028. PeptiDream plans to finance the investment through long- term bank loans and is also exploring available government incentive programmes, certain tax benefits as well as subsidy programs to help offset the investment costs.
