Bosung Meditech develops safe blood drawing equipment

Singapore: At a time when the issue of secondary infection is emerging as a big problem in many countries, South Korean medical device manufacturer Bosung Meditech has developed a blood drawing equipment, SafeLan Pro, and an all-in-one blood drawing needle, protective cap and lancet, SafeLan.

SafeLan Pro is designed to avoid reuse of an already used lancet. It does not work in any situation unless the used blood drawing needle is replaced, and there is a window for loading check to see if blood drawing equipment is ready for use.

Also, it adopts easy methods of combining and separating and so the protective tip for blood drawing needle is automatically separated by combining lancet with blood drawing equipment. As blood drawing needle and protective cap are coupled together, the protective cap that leaves bloodstain after drawing blood is discarded with lancet, and it enables prevention of secondary infection.

The blood drawing needle is also not exposed except the moment of blood-gathering. SafeLan Pro and SafeLan acquired FDA, ISO13485, and CE certifications in November 2011.
