Singapore: An investigation of leaks from the board of directors of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries revealed that former CEO, Mr Jeremy Levin, had hired Wizman Yaar investigative firm six months ago to probe into the activities of the firm's staff.

It has been further highlighted that Israeli directors at Teva underwent polygraph or lie-detector tests as part of the investigation. They were also questioned about telephone conversations.

Moreover, every candidate that was going to to succeed Teva chairman Mr Phillip Frost, and every person who considered himself to be a candidate, was required to participate in the investigation.

Although the wide-ranging investigation of Teva staff was carried out with the board's consent, senior directors highlighted that they had no choice in the matter in order not to be considered as suspects. When the investigation was completed, the leak was discovered and exposed.

Teva has said in its response that, "The departure of Jeremy Levin was carried out with the agreement of the parties. Any other speculation is untrue."
