Singapore: Medical technology company iSonea launched its latest smartphone asthma management application, AsthmaSense Cloud, to enable transfer and storage of asthma tracking data from the AsthmaSense smartphone app to a cloud based site. The company's device is the only one in the world that enables monitoring of wheeze rate via smartphone, using iSonea's proprietary Acoustic Respiratory Monitoring (ARM) technology.
The AsthmaSense Cloud app for iPhone and Android platforms includes enhanced features to track and manage chronic asthma. The various features, include safe storage of a user's asthma profile and event history in a password-protected, HIPAAcompliant, cloud-based data warehouse; protected access and easy data recovery if one's phone is replaced, lost, stolen or damaged; ability to view or edit app data via computer; and tracking system to identify potential risk patterns and trends in symptoms, medication use and testing results.
Other features of the device include, interactive medication and testing reminders and medication usage records; one-touch dialing of contact numbers, including auto-selected emergency number based on GPS location; and the ability to maintain multiple patient profiles with a single app - a benefit to families with more than one person suffering from asthma.
