Singapore: Swedish telecommunications operator Telia won a contract from AstraZeneca to take over its telecom support operations, including staff. AstraZeneca is expected to lower its costs for telecommunications support by 20 percent following the deal.
The contract will be valid for the next five years and is estimated to be worth around $2.35 million (SEK 15 million). Telia will take over the operation, maintenance and user support of AstraZeneca's internal telecommunications.
The agreement will also enable Telia with the potential to become a provider of all telecommunications in AstraZeneca's Swedish operations, which includes telephony, mobility and other services.
