Singapore, Feb 23, 2010: Western Australia’s forthcoming clinical trials facility, Linear Clinical Research Limited has appointed Mr Cameron Johnson as its Head. The state-of-the-art facility will run phase I clinical trials and is due to open in the second quarter of 2010.
Having held a number of coordinator and managerial positions across a range of phase-I to phase-IV clinical trials operations in Melbourne, Brisbane and London, Mr Johnson brings considerable experience in this arena.
Mr Johnson made the move to Perth from his previous role in Adelaide as clinical operations manager for CMAX, a clinical research facility and division of IDT Australia.
Based at the QEII Medical Center in Nedlands, Linear will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of WA’s premier adult medical research institute, the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR).
WAIMR Director of Translational Research Prof Peter Leedman said, “Mr Johnson has a huge amount of experience and understands what it takes to make a clinical trials operation a success. He is already fielding interest from pharmaceutical companies keen to look at conducting trials here, so we are looking forward to an exciting launch and to the development of the facility.”
