Singapore, Jan 20, 2010: Taiwan's Hard to Treat Diseases and its European operating subsidiary Slavica BioChem have postponed their merger with a Europe based stem cell research company as it has started building its own stem cell lab in Europe.
On October 29, 2009, HTDS had announced that it was merging with a EU based, stem-cell research company. HTDS did not name the European company.
HTDS however, had to postpone these merger negotiations due to certain HTDS' "followers" certain intrusive intervention and a massive short position on HTDS security.
Now the company has begun a project to build its own stem cell lab.
HTDS said it will soon start a division to focus on research and storage of the umbilical cord stem cells, the only ethical source of stem cells in the human body. Umbilical stem cells are more flexible in medical applications and possess 30% higher flexibility to match the patient than the bone marrow stem cells do. The company will also serve its customers as an Umbilical Cord Blood Bank.
