Ranbaxy, Cadila get FDA permit to sell drugs in US

Bangalore, May 16, 2008: Two of India’s largest pharma companies by revenues, Ranbaxy and Cadila, have received US FDA permission to market drugs in the US.
 
While FDA has permitted Ranbaxy, based in New Delhi and owned by billionaire brothers, to sell its muscle-relaxing drug— cyclobenzaprine—in the US.
 
Ranbaxy will launch cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride in 5mg, 7.5 mg and 10 mg capacity.
 
Meanwhile Ahmedabad based Cadila too has received FDA nod to sell four products in the US. Cadila will also sell its anti-depressant Escitalopram Oxalate tablets as well.
 
Besides Escitalopram, Cadila will sell Pravastatin Sodium tablets, Losartam Potassium, and Anastrazole tablets in the US.
