Singapore, April 16, 2008: The Technology Transfer Network (TTN), founded by Exploit-Technologies of A*STAR with other technical training institutes in Singapore has joined hands with the Office of Technology Alliances of the University of California, Irvine (UCI). With this, UCI Office of Technology has become an Affiliate Member of TTN with effect from April 7, 2008, barely two months after its inception in Feb this year.
As an Affiliate Member, the UCI Office of Technology Alliances will be able to participate in enhanced collaboration with the network of TTN members to share best practices, leverage expertise and resources, and collaborate on networking opportunities to enhance technology transfer to the industry globally.
Mr Lim Chuan Poh, Chairman of A*STAR, said, “With UC Irvine’s Office of Technology Alliances (OTA) coming onboard as TTN’s affiliate member, TTN will be well-placed to facilitate technology transfer, and advance the spirit of innovation and enterprise, to benefit companies on both sides of the Pacific. This strategic partnership will afford TTN members the leverage to take advantage of the capabilities and resources of OTA, and vice versa, and further enhance and maximize the potential for the commercialization of their research outcomes.”
Mr Demetri Andrikos, Director, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Office of Technology Alliances, UC Irvine, said, “We welcome the opportunity to become an affiliate member of the TTN. We look forward to the networking opportunities with industry and research institutions, and the exchange of best practices in the area of technology transfer. Mr Boon Swan Foo, Executive Chairman of Exploit Technologies and the Chairman of the Technology Transfer Network said, “With this partnership, the TTN has established a strong linkage between the United States and Singapore based TTOs for enhanced collaboration in technology transfer to the industry.
