Singapore, Mar 15, 2010: Caraco Pharmaceutical, the American subsidiary of India's Sun Pharma has launched oxaliplatin injections after receiving US FDA nod.

A company release said the 50mg and 100mg oxaliplatin injections, which are therapeutically equivalent to Eloxatin from Sanofi-Aventis, received approval from the US FDA for Sun Pharma's Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA).

 

Oxaliplatin is an anticancer agent used in the treatment of colon and rectal cancer. Oxaliplatin injections have annual sales of approximately $1.3 billion in the US.
