DALIAN, China, May 13, 2008: With 22% world market share, annual growth rates exceeding 15%, annual output of 800,000 tons, and export turnover of $600 million, China is emerging as the hot spot of bulk pharmaceutical market in the world. So the 60^th edition of the API China & INTERPHEX China focused on a theme “Scientific and Technology Innovation, and Pharmaceutical Industry Development” promoting to upgrade China’s pharmaceutical raw material industry.

 

It attracted over 1200 domestic and oversees enterprises and over 30,000 professional visitors to Dalian, ranked as the 7^th top Chinese cities in terms of competitive strength and supportive government authority, for the three-day event that opened yesterday.

 

During the 60^th API China, which focuses on bulk pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals & intermediates, excipients and drug formulation, pharmaceutical packaging material and machinery and food and cosmetic additives, officials, experts from the academia and leaders from the medical industry shared their views on macro economic growth environment in China and its effective directive policy. They also discussed about developing direction of China medical industry within a standardization of market.

 

Representatives from the government agencies shared their views on China's policy of encouraging Science & Technology innovation, overview of Intellectual Property protection in pharmaceutical industry, development of new medicine preparations within and out of China, introduction to new drugs by domestic institutes, trends in the world pharmaceutical ingredients Market, among others.
