Singapore, Feb 09, 2010: Fresh on the heels of an economic recovery and growing life sciences industry in the region, Mr Robin Tan, who was Director and Head, Life Sciences Practice, Sterling Human Resources, has started a new biomedical executive search firm called Resource Scientific International.
Speaking to BioSpectrum Mr Tan said, “Resource Scientific will serve regular, repeat clients in this industry with excellence, and with the same level of professionalism, accuracy and speed that we’re known for, and also building relationships with new players based on trust and our growing success rate.
He added, “With the recent M&A activity in the big pharma space, as well as amongst CROs, we view these as opportunities rather than threats, and engage with people who were previously not looking for jobs, but are more motivated to talk to us, especially in first quarter of this year.”
“2010 will be very exciting for life sciences sector, and with much brighter prospects than the last 2 years, given we’re already observing more business optimism. Hiring will continue, and also pick up across the Asia Pacific region but will be centered on the few biomedical hubs” said Mr Tan.
“The biomedical talent that we work with, will continue to move across national boundaries for better jobs in all sub-sectors, causing equilibrium shifts in domestic salaries and internal equity within companies. Global talent isn’t just a cliché or buzzword for us, but a resource we maximize, to match against clients’ specific hiring needs. We use our ability to reach out to these ‘global’ human resources in the US, Europe, China, and India, with the pre-requisite scientific, medical or R&D experience”
