Singapore, Sep 08, 2010: China National Pharmaceutical Industry Corporation(CNPIC), a subsidiary of China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm), has started the construction of its logistics park in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang province, China.

With an investment of $ 32 million (RMB 220 million), the project that covers an area of 103 acres is expected to start production in May 2012 and is also projected to become one of the largest distribution centers in northwest China.

Established in 1964, Sinopharm is primarily engaged in R&D, drug manufacturing and distribution as well as cooperation with other pharmaceutical companies through JVs like that with Otsuka pharmaceutical, Xi'an-Janssen pharmaceutical, Sino-American Shanghai Squibb Pharmaceuticals and others
