Singapore, Sep 08, 2010: The number of drug registrations in China has decreased dramatically over the past five years, according to Guangdong's provincial Food and Drug Administration (FDA). According to a report, total of 5,886 drugs including domestic and import chemical/biological drugs were registered in 2006 - a figure that has significantly decreased to 338 drug registrations at present.
Thus, Wei Yang, drug inspection commissioner and in-charge of drug registration processes, said the government will endeavor to align China's registration policy and new drugs approval with international standards, to be able to rapidly market innovative drugs.
