Boston, May 8, 2007: Malaysia has taken centerstage at the world’s largest biotechnology convention. The country went forth to be the third largest international participant at the 2007 BIO Convention held at Boston in USA.
The Science, Technology and Innovation Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr Jamaludin Jarjis views this event as a global stage to attract the attention of the international investors and to show that the country is capitalizing on export of bioservices. Dr Jamaludin said that the participants of the BIO 2007 would gain awareness about the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation and its function as the one-stop agency for all things related to biotechnology in Malaysia.
Malaysia is the third largest participant at the convention after the United States and Canada. The country has approximately 320 delegates attending the event and about 14 Malaysian exhibitors have captured the exhibition space.
Malaysia will sign a record number of 11 MoUs at the BIO Convention. During the four-day convention, Malaysian biotech companies will collaborate will international companies to strengthen export potential.
