Bangalore, April 5, 2007: GE Healthcare Asia Growth Markets has promoted and appointed Mr W S Kim, formerly the service manager of GE Healthcare Korea, as the new President of GE Healthcare Korea.
Mr Kim will work with Mr C W Lee to play a leading role in driving organic growth in Korea by developing and executing on a strategy to create new markets and increase market shares for the diagnostic imaging business.
Mr W S Kim joined GE International Korea as Finance Director in 1999 and has moved to GE Medical Systems Korea in 2001 to assume the role of CFO. He then took on roles such as the Master Black Belt for Asia Growth Markets and Service Manager of GE Healthcare Korea.
“We will achieve growth with the customers by providing innovative diagnostic imaging technology and differentiated digital services to local healthcare professionals that maintain high global competitiveness. Through GE Healthcare’s capabilities in providing comprehensive solution across genetic engineering, diagnostics medicine and pharmaceuticals, I hope to help the local healthcare industry lead in terms of early health services, which is a futuristic healthcare model that aims to detect and treat diseases before they show symptoms,” said Mr Kim.

WS Kim received his bachelors and masters degree in Business Administration at Yonsei University and obtained an MBA from Indiana University. Prior to GE, he has worked at Korea Life Insurance as an analyst and at An Kwon Accounting Firm as a CPA. He is a certified public accountant.
