Singapore, Sep 1, 2010: ScinoPharm, a leading active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) developer and manufacturer headquartered in Taiwan, has announced an investment in Tanvex Biologics, a US company registered in the State of Delaware. ScinoPharm's investment was in the form of tangible assets, intellectual properties, as well as cash.
Tanvex specializes in the development of biosimilars and biobetters, as well as the provision of contract research and contract manufacturing services for biologics. The company is currently establishing a cGMP facility in San Diego, California, USA, and will have research centers in both the US and Taiwan.
Tanvex is founded by Dr Allen Chao, the founder and former chairman and CEO of Watson Pharmaceuticals.
Dr Hardy Chan, co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of ScinoPharm, will become the Chief Executive Officer of Tanvex. Dr Chao will remain as Executive Chairman of Tanvex.
