'Sandoz focuses on developing modern drugs for TB'

Tell us about your ongoing R&D projects and future plans?
Our parent company, Novartis is one of the few companies engaged in research for new drugs to treat malaria, dengue fever and TB, with one primary objective to develop a treatment for multi-drug resistant TB. The Novartis Institute of Tropical Diseases (NITD) is conducting clinical trials on a TB vaccine, that may be effective in both drug-sensitive and multi-drug resistant TB.

What are the latest technological innovations introduced by Sandoz India?
As a global leader in generics dedicated to delivering high-quality products, Sandoz consistently uses the latest technologies in its development and production processes. The most significant among them is in the field of TB are related to drug delivery. Through the Novartis Institute of Tropical Diseases (NITD), our parent company Novartis also invests in research and new technologies for the development of modern drugs to battle diseases such as TB.
