Mr Kiminobu Imura was serving in a dual role of corporate officer and general manager of executive secretariate department in Shimadzu

Singapore: Shimadzu Asia Pacific, a subsidiary of Shimadzu, Japan, has appointed Mr Kiminobu Imura as its new managing director. Mr Imura joined Shimadzu in 1981. He has been associated with Shimadzu for over three decades now and has worked in a number of senior executive roles.

Most recently, Mr Imura was serving in a dual functional role of corporate officer and general manager of executive secretariate department in Shimadzu.

He started his career in the finance department and then rose through several positions in various countries, including USA and Germany, to become the corporate officer in Shimadzu, Japan. His expertise includes financial accounting, human resource, corporate strategy and planning. In his new role as the managing director of Shimadzu Asia Pacific, his focus is to expand the scope of Shimadzu business in the emerging markets in Asia.

Commenting on the management change, Mr Prem Anand, general manager, Analytical Instruments Division, Shimadzu Asia Pacific, said, "We are delighted to welcome Mr Imura to Shimadzu Asia Pacific. His strong credentials with a proven track record in project management, business development, strategy, finance and people management will complement the subsidiary's management expertise."
