Amgen appoints Ray Jordan as SVP of corporate affairs

Effective October 1, 2012, Mr Jordan will report to president and CEO, Mr Robert A Bradway and will be responsible for internal and external communications, issues management and philanthropy

Appointed: Mr Ray Jordan is the new SVP of corporate affairs for Amgen

Singapore: Mr Ray Jordan has been appointed as the new senior vice president, corporate affairs, effective October 1, 2012, by Amgen. Mr Jordan will report directly to Mr Robert A Bradway, president and CEO, Amgen, and will be responsible for strategic communications across the firm, including internal and external communications, issues management and philanthropy.

Since 2003 Mr Jordan served as communications leader at Johnson&Johnson, responsible for corporate communications and public affairs for more than 250 operating companies in 60 countries. Prior to joining Johnson&Johnson, Jordan was vice president, communications and information, Pfizer, where he held a range of positions over the course of 17 years.

He also served as chair of PhRMA's public affairs section and of the National Pharmaceutical Council's User Group. Earlier in his career, Jordan was a reporter for a regional daily newspaper and held positions with Bristol-Myers and Dun & Bradstreet.

Mr Bradway said that, "We are very pleased to have Ray join Amgen. He is a strategic thinker and communicator with skills honed at two respected global healthcare companies. Ray's background in both business management and communication will serve Amgen well as we execute on our strategy to deliver results for both patients and shareholders."
