TMC's vision is all about working in partnership with the patient
Singapore: New Zealand-based health software company, Orion Health, has partnered with The Medical City (TMC), Philippine's health institution, to provide enterprise electronic health record (EHR) system to enable unified view of patient data across the healthcare organisation via an easy-to-use web-based interface.
EHR systems are rapidly being installed in hospitals to reduce medical errors, increase medical staff efficiency and reduce costs.
Expanding its presence and facilitating the service, Orion Health is opening an office in Manila that would serve as its South East Asian hub.
Mr Ian McCrae, CEO, Orion Health informed that the company will initially employ up to 20 staff and the strength would grow over the next 12-18 months.
TMC operates a network of hospitals located in Angeles and Iloilo and medical clinics located in Metro Manila and has plans to open hospitals in Clark and Guam.
Mr McCrae commented, "TMC's vision is all about working in partnership with the patient, and we are also focussed on patient-centric care. Our goal is a long lasting partnership with TMC that will enable us to provide better software to other healthcare organisations in South East Asia."
"As The Medical City expands its national footprint, it enters into a partnership with global leader Orion Health to build a flexible technology infrastructure that can support physicians and empower our patient partners," said Dr Alfredo R A Bengzon, president and CEO, TMC.
"Orion Health's proven global experience in providing powerful information sharing capabilities and its commitment to quality patient care convinced us that they are indeed suited to help us in delivering care to our patients in today's changing healthcare landscape," he added.
