Singapore: The 2014 BIO International Convention, the world's largest and most prestigious biotechnology event, attracted pioneers and industry leaders from 65 countries worldwide. The three day event that started on June 23 was held at the San Diego Convention Center.
The event witnessed participation of many global leaders who shared ideas, experiences, insights and best practices on biotech innovations that would help solve some of the biggest global challenges, like emerging diseases, improving health, feeding growing populations and meeting the increased world demand for energy.
Hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organisation, the event featured around 3,000 biotechnology companies and 15,000 attendees.
"San Diego is one of the third largest life sciences clusters in the country. By hosting the 2014 BIO International Convention, we will have the opportunity to showcase all that San Diego has to offer as a global leader in the life sciences," said San Diego interim Mr Mayor Todd Gloria.
