Jordan's pharma market witnessed a 20 percent growth in 2012
Singapore: According to the Jordan Times, the Jordan Chamber of Industry reported that the country's exports of pharmaceutical products witnessed a considerable growth of 20 percent in 2012 as compared to the previous year.
It said that according to Mr Mohammad Ali Shahin, a representative of healthcare-related industries and medical supplies at the chamber, pharmaceutical exports reached $643 million in 2012, when compared with $503 million in 2011.
Mr Shahin also said that the Jordan, which exports its medical products to nearly 65 markets, could see its revenue from pharmaceutical exports grow to $1 billion by 2015, if the exports carry on expanding at the same pace. Jordan's medical industry employs around 5,000 people directly, while another 3,000 are employed in its related markets.
