Biocon's Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw becomes the second non-US member to have been named on the board of trustees of the US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP)

Another feather in the cap - Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, CMD, Biocon, has been named as the second non-US member on the board of trustees of US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP)

Singapore: The US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) has named Biocon chairman and managing director Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw on its board of trustees. Dr Mazumdar-Shaw now becomes the second non-US member of the USP Board of Trustees.

Mr Roger L Williams, CEO, USP, said that, "We are honoured to have her serve on USP's board of trustees, where her leadership and expertise will be utilised to help guide the organization as it advances its mission to improve the health of people around the world through public standards and related programmes that help ensure the quality, safety, and benefit of medicines and foods."

USP is a scientific nonprofit organisation that develops standards for the identity, strength, quality and purity of medicines, medicinal ingredients, botanical medicinal ingredients, dietary supplements, food ingredients and compounded medicines manufactured, prepared, distributed and consumed worldwide.
