Singapore: Algae.Tec, an Australian biofuels company, has appointed Mr Colin McGregor as general manager project operations. Mr McGregor, an award winning project manager and manufacturing engineer, with over 20 years aviation experience in both defense and commercial sectors, was recently heading a fuel efficiency program for a major international carrier.

Algae.Tec Executive Chairman Mr Roger Stroud said the company was extremely pleased to have McGregor on board. "His project engineering, fuel and biofuels experience plus his aviation background means he is the right person to roll out our global projects," said Mr Stroud. "Algae.Tec is focused on the large-scale production of transport biofuels, and Mr McGregor will bring deep knowledge and experience in delivering for this sector."

McGregor said he chose Algae.Tec because it has a truly commercial, scalable and viable technology process. "I have looked at many biofuels companies around the world and Algae.Tec keeps coming up as a leader in this space."

Algae.Tec has biofuel projects underway with Lufthansa, Holcim Lanka, a joint venture in China, a showcase facility in Australia and a manufacturing base in Atlanta, Georgia (US).
