Asia has potential in NGS research: Dr Partha Majumdar

Updated on 2 August 2012

What are your most important concerns associated with NGS?

My concerns associated with next generation sequencing has been the lack of robust methodologies for data analyses and high error rates in next generation sequencing particularly in regions of sequence complexity.

What are your views on NGS-related R&D, activities and trends in Asia?

I think Asia can jump into next generation sequencing-related R&D and soar high. Many organizations have actually taken the leap, but I would like to see more organizations getting involved in next generation sequencing-related R&D.

How different is the NGS scenario in India as compared to other developed nations like the US?
