Bilcare forms first Corporate Advisory Board

Singapore, May 5, 2008: Bilcare Global Clinical Supplies (GCS), a leading single-source provider of clinical trial services based in Pune, India has formed its first Corporate Advisory Board by inducting Dr John LaMattina, former Pfizer President and Dr Arthur Carty, DSc, Executive Director of Waterloo Institute of Nanotechnology as inaugural board members. Dr LaMattina will serve as Chairman of the board.  The advisory board is created to provide Bilcare GCS Management Team with independent scientific industry expertise and insight to assist in the accomplishment of scientific and business objectives.
 
Dr LaMattina had a distinguished 30-year career at Pfizer, where he held various positions, including Senior Vice President of Pfizer and President of Pfizer Global Research and Development. In his role, Dr LaMattina oversaw the drug discovery and development efforts of more than 12,000 colleagues in the United States, Europe and Asia. Dr LaMattina is the author of 23 scientific publications and holds 15 US patents. He is the 2004 recipient of the American Diabetes Association Award for Leadership and Commitment in the Fight Against Diabetes. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Boston College and the Board of Trustees of Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
 
Dr Carty is the first Executive Director of the Waterloo Institute of Nanotechnology and the former National Science Advisor to Canada’s Prime Minister. A noted academic, Dr Carty had a distinguished career as the President of the National Research Council of Canada from 1994 to 2004 after which he was appointed as the National Science Advisor. Prior to his recent return to the institute, Dr Carty spent 27 years as a professor of chemistry at the University of Waterloo, serving as Chairman of the chemistry department and Dean of Research. He has authored more than 285 papers in referred journals and multiple book chapters and review articles, and also has five patents. Dr Carty is a distinguished member of multiple boards including two for the Networks of Centres of Excellence and Genome Canada. He is both an Officer of the Order of Canada and Officer de L’Ordre National du Merite of France.
