'Global market for process automation, scientific instrumentation to grow'

Singapore, Dec 3, 2007:  The market demand in Asia has reached new heights in the chemical processing, refining, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, life sciences and R&D sectors. The global market for process automation and scientific instrumentation is expected to grow to $94.2 billion in 2010.       
 
To sustain the growth, the companies need to invest in the latest instrumentation and process technologies to enhance product quality, improve process safety and plant availability. With increased foreign investments expected in Asia and new manufacturing plants coming up, more companies are looking for opportunities in the Asian region.    
 
To support the growing market demand, Singapore Exhibition Services has provided a platform for the instrumentation, lab and analytical technology, process and automation companies to showcase their latest technologies and equipments by organizing CIA 2007 in Singapore.
 
The four day exhibition ( November 27-30) has attracted over 600 companies from 43 countries and regions including seven country group pavilions from China, France, Germany, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom and Baden Wurttemberg (state of Germany).    
 
Besides participation from supporting associations like ICS, SSMS, CHWMEG, GRUFAC, KSIIC, JAIMA, companies such as Siemens, Merck, Metrhm, Millipore, Memmert, Esco, Whatman, LabIndia, BioLogix, Sunpro Instruments, Continental Lab Products, Labware, Linair Technologies, VWR International, and National Instruments etc exhibited their products at the exhibition.
 
To add value to the business operations while increasing productivity and staying cost competitive, the companies showcased solutions in assays and testing, chromatography, diagnostics, lab automation, microscopy, optical image analysis, spectroscopy filtration, separation technology, analytical science solutions, solutions and products for measuring, testing, instrumentation and controls, supply chain management, QA and test systems and etc at the CIA 2007.    
 
On the sidelines of the exhibition, conferences on different topics were arranged aimed at providing networking and learning opportunities to the visitors and delegates.
