Clinical studies prove natural remedy for constipation

Singapore, Sep 1, 2010: Results of newly published clinical studies scientifically prove that Oxy-Powder, a herbal colon and intestinal detox cleanse, effectively relieves constipation in many patients.

Human clinical trials of "Global Healing Center's" all-natural colon cleansing supplement, Oxy-Powder, could spell relief for countless sufferers of constipation, says Dr Edward F Group III, the company's founder.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) estimates that in the United States alone, more than 4 million people cope with frequent constipation. This effectively adds up to about 2.5 million doctor visits and $725 million spent on over-the-counter treatment options each year.

Of the 26 patients who participated in the 42-day trials, 96.2 percent (25 of 26) were documented as having "Good" to "Excellent" results using Oxy-Powder to treat their constipation. A staggering 42.3 percent (11 of 26) of participants met the criteria for "Complete Remission" according to the researchers charged with conducting the formal scientific studies.

The human trials closely monitored the effects of the popular dietary supplement on 26 individuals who had suffered from ongoing constipation for a minimum of 12 weeks prior to joining the study. Routine stool examination carried out before and after the trials showed no abnormality in any of the patients.

With sales upward of $25 billion annually, dietary supplements and other forms of natural health products are big business in the US. Despite these impressive figures, and continued industry growth throughout the ongoing recession, very few independent manufacturers put their products through the long and typically expensive clinical trial process.

"With the potentially damaging treatment options currently available for constipation, I wanted to prove the effectiveness and safety of natural alternatives," says Dr Group.
